The "ISSN Manual - Cataloguing Part" is available online and in a print edition. It replaces the "ISDS Manual", published in 1983, and gathers the rules needed to establish ISSN bibliographic records.

Its revision has been performed by a working group composed mainly of ISSN National Centres directors, with a care for harmonization with the AACR2 and ISBD(CR) standards, as well as for the adaptation to the rules applied to electronic resources.

This new "ISSN Manual - Cataloguing Part" will be completed all along the years to come, further to the revision of the ISSN format, and in particular to the application of the MARC21 and UNIMARC bibliographic standards to ISSN data exchange. The online edition of the ""ISSN Manual - Cataloguing Part" will be updated as and when those changes are introduced.
