and other continuing resources, in the electronic and print world



ROAD, the Directory of Open Access scholarly Resources, is a service offered by the ISSN International Centre with the support of the Communication and Information Sector of UNESCO.
ROAD provides a free access to a subset of the ISSN Register. This subset comprises bibliographic records which describe scholarly resources in Open Access which have been assigned an ISSN by the ISSN Network : journals, conference proceedings and academic repositories.

Latindex represents a major initiative created by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in 1997 to promote the visibility and dissemination of Ibero-American scientific journals, and improve the quality of journals published in the region. Today, Latindex is a regional network with participation of national focal points in 22 countries in Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain and Portugal. This regional collaborative initiative coordinated by the UNAM receives contributions from the national collection centers, for four open access databases:


PRESSoo is an extension of the FRBRoo model (Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records – Object Oriented) devoted to the bibliographic information relating to serials and continuing resources.


ISSN assigned semi-automatically to 30,000 italian serial publications. A partnership between Italian ISSN National Centre, ACNP (University of Bologna) and the ISSN International Centre.
