Positive vote on ISO 3297 standard (Dec. 1st, 2019)
The national standards organizations members of ISO TC 46 have just voted and endorsed the revised version of ISO 3297, which will be released in 2020.
ISSN International Centre @ Coalition for Networked Information Fall 2019 Membership Meeting (9-10 December) 2019, Washington D.C., USA)
The Director of the ISSN International Centre will give a presentation about Keepers Registry, the new service provided by the ISSN portal (portal.issn.org), at CNI Fall 2019 Membership Meeting. The ISSN International Centre will offer this service that supplies information about long-term preservation of digitized and born-digital continuing resources as from December 3rd, 2019 when the University of Edinburgh, the current provider, relinquishes responsibility.
ISSN Portal unavailable for 4 hours on December 3rd
Dear ISSN users,
The “Keepers Registry”, a JISC-funded service for the UK Higher Education sector from 2016 to 2019 and maintained by EDINA at the University of Edinburgh (https://thekeepers.org), will be discontinued as from the end of this week.
The ISSN International Centre, in cooperation with the various contributing Keepers agencies, decided to maintain this service by integrating the Keepers Data into the ISSN Portal (https://portal.issn.org).
This new service will require a technical operation on December 3rd and the ISSN Portal will be unavailable for 4 hours from 9am to 1pm CET due to this data import.

The ballot on sixth version of ISO 3297 – ISSN is under way
Early October, ISO Central Secretariat launched a FDIS ballot to validate the sixth version of ISO 3297 – ISSN. All ISO Member bodies can vote until the end of November 2019. The sixth version of the ISSN standard should be published by ISO in 2020.
ISSN Regional Meeting @ IZUM (Maribor, Slovenia, 22-24 October 2019)
The ISSN International Centre is organizing an ISSN Regional Meeting in partnership with IZUM, the Slovenian Institute of Information Science (https://www.izum.si/en/) in Maribor, Slovenia. The ISSN International Centre will attend COASP
The 11th Conference on Open Access Scholarly Publishing (COASP) will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark from 24-26 September 2019. Nathalie Cornic, Head of the Metadata and Technical Coordination of the ISSN Network Department, will attend the conference. This is the opportunity for ISSN International Centre to hear about new trends in Open Access, all of which might interest the development of ROAD, the ISSN Directory of Open Access Resources.
