CIDEMIS, new web-based application developed by ABES

CIDEMIS: a new service for ISSN assignment and correction requests from French libraries

The ABES (French Bibliographic Agency for Higher Education) has launched a new system, CIDEMIS, jointly developed in partnership with the National Library of France and the ISSN International Centre, to dematerialize the workflow of ISSN assignment and correction requests sent by French libraries to the ISSN national centres.

CIDEMIS will enhance the rapidity and the efficiency of the whole process, by quickly providing the relevant information to national centres. It will also allow a better monitoring of the assignment and correction activity. These requests from a network of professionals in French libraries help improving the coverage and the accuracy of the ISSN register.
