The ISSN International Centre has just launched a call for experts.

The ISSN International Centre has just launched a call for experts.

The International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) is an ISO standard. The ISSN database (the “ISSN Register”) is a catalogue of more than 2 million bibliographic records in Marc 21 format with an annual growth of approximately 60,000 records.

Since 2004, the ISSN International Centre has been using the “ISSN Virtua” software, i.e. a customized version of the basic Virtua LMS system by Innovative.

The retained expert shall explore and assess various market solutions and service providers that could contribute to the implementation of a new information system to support the ISSN Register.

The ISSN International Centre is thus expecting a report including a set of recommendations on which the subsequent call for tender shall be based to get the best solution to replace the current production system.

Interested parties shall send an email to tenders@issn.org to receive further information. The deadline to submit a proposal is July 13th, 2017.
